Social projects

When you travel with us, we can take you to several projects that we highly recommend. One of the projects is the Angaza Women Center in Sanya Juu, west of Kilimanjaro. The other project is the Women and Youth Careline Foundation which has several projects in Northern Tanzania. If you are interested in volunteering, both places have opportunities to do so.

Angaza Women Center

The Angaza Women Center is located in Sanya Juu, a small town in West Kilimanjaro. It is part of the Northern Diocese of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Tanzania. This center provides training and courses, information and sustainable agricultural projects. The purpose of Angaza Women Center is to teach women to deal with problems in their daily lives and other matters that are important in life, training programs for girls and seminars and spiritual retreats. We wholeheartedly recommend this project because it is running very well, has good governance and we especially appreciate their vision to create equality between men and women.

Women and Youth Careline Foundation

The Women and Youth Careline Foundation (WYCF) has several projects in Kilimanjaro and Arusha. One of those projects is in the village of Mdawi, where there are again various sub-projects such as a sewing school, a computer class with a library, a medical post with a house for the staff and a nursery school. Several sponsors from Europe and the United States have funded these projects. School children are sponsored and children with HIV/AIDS receive help in the care they need. The inhabitants are constantly coming up with new ideas to improve the lives of the children. Another project that is still in its early stages is a health and prevention program in the growing town of Boma Ng’ombe. Many people are not aware of how to prevent diseases such as infectious diseases, high blood pressure, diabetes and other cardiovascular diseases. The idea is to start an information project that focuses on eating habits and exercise and other lifestyle factors that can play a role. Furthermore, a number of health parameters, such as blood pressure, glucose, weight and height, will be collected to measure the global health of the people. Hopefully, people will be helped in this way to prevent various diseases. We also strongly recommend this project as it focuses mainly on the health of children.
